2Baba Sparks Debate with Bold Take on Male Fidelity
Nigerian music legend 2Baba has stirred public discourse with a candid interview revealing his stance on male fidelity.
The 49-year-old singer, born Innocent Idibia, claimed that while a man can love and respect one woman, staying faithful is “impossible”.
During the Monday, 30 June, episode of “the 234 Mzansi Podcast”, 2Baba commented: “A man is not built to sexually be with one woman,” attributing the difficulty to biology, rather than a lack of commitment.
His comments have divided fans: some praise his honesty, while others accuse him of justifying cheating.
This comes months after his high-profile split from actress Annie Macaulay, whom he married in 2012. Despite their efforts to salvage the relationship, the pair officially separated in January 2025.
“I think both of us gave it our best … it just wasn’t working no more [sic],” 2Baba said, without disclosing full details.
The “African Queen” hitmaker has since moved on with Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, confirming their relationship and engagement in February.
While 2Baba’s views have triggered backlash, they’ve also reignited wider conversations about monogamy, societal expectations and personal happiness within relationships.
