8 SA Celebs Who are Actually Twins

January 01, 2021

Seeing double? That’s easy to explain – your favourite celebrity has got a twin!

South African is home to a whole host of famous twins from songstresses Viggy and Virginia Qwabe, to Andrew and Brian Chaplin of Locnville fame. However, it may come as a surprise to you that there many stars in the local entertainment industry who’ve got an identical or fraternal sibling:

Take a look at these eight siblings who are “twinning” at life, for life:

Ntando and Hlelo Masina

The Masina sisters do everything together! They first gained fame in the radio field, co-hosting the “Double Up” show on Gauteng’s biggest youth station, YFM, from 2008 to 2013. They also starred in their own reality show, “Blame It On Fame.”

After taking a hiatus, the girls returned to the limelight in 2019 by launching their own YouTube channel, where they speak about a wide range of topics.

Marco and Marcel Spaumer

Prominent in the Afrikaans entertainment scene, the Spaumer brothers – both of whom are writers and actors – are virtually each other’s doubles.

Fans of the soap opera, “Suidooster”, will best know Marco as the character Tim Plooy, while Marcel works as a writer for the show. No doubt, however, they could easily swap roles if the situation calls for it!

Bandile and Banele Mbere

This brotherly duo not only share the same looks, but they also share the same career.

Together, the Mberes make up the popular hip-hop/kwaito music band, Major League DJz, which has produced hit songs such as “Amanzi”, “Dinaledi” and “Jolene”.

Blue and Brown Mbombo

This colourful pair is anything but dull! Blue first rose to fame on the 2015 edition of “Big Brother South Africa.” Since then, she has branched out into the modelling and influencer industries.

Although she’s more low-key than her sister, Brown is no slouch, either: she’s a renowned plus-size model and stylish fashionista.
