Abigail Kubeka, 78, Assaulted by Taxi Driver
Gauteng police are currently on the lookout for the taxi driver who allegedly assaulted actress and singer, Abigail Kubeka.
Seventy-eight-year-old Kubeka – who is well-known for playing Zondiwe Mogale in “Generations: The Legacy” – and the taxi driver were reportedly involved in a car accident on 16 October in Soweto’s Orlando township.
Exiting his Toyota Quantum minibus, the driver proceeded to punch Kubeka in the face, leaving her with a black eye.
Passengers in the taxi are said to have intervened in the assault.
Brigadier Mathapelo Peters, spokesperson for the Gauteng police, confirmed that a case of common assault was opened on Thursday, 24 October, in connection with the incident.
Peters added: “The police have been able to establish the identity of the suspect and are in search of the man who disappeared after the incident. Anyone who might know the whereabouts of the suspect is urged to contact Orlando police station.”
