AKA Smashes Fan’s Cellphone

A fan has been left incredibly heartbroken, after rapper AKA reportedly smashed her cellphone while performing at a gig over the weekend.

The “Levels” hitmaker was giving a musical performance on Saturday night, 18 May, at the Ayepyep Lifestyle Lounge in Menlyn, Pretoria, when the incident occurred.

According to reports, AKA grabbed the cellphone out of the hands of the fan – identified as Mary Phahladi – and smashed it to the ground.

Moosa Kaula, a friend of Phahladi, explained: “AKA was dancing in the crowd and [Phahladi] went to get a video for her social page. He was coming towards her and suddenly smashed the phone. I don’t think there’s anything [Phahladi] did to anger him, because we were just dancing.”

The friends attempted to approach Supa Mega for an apology and to ask him to repair her phone which was only a month old, but the rapper and his security guards apparently gave them the cold shoulder.

This is not the first time that AKA has been accused of smashing or throwing away cellphones belonging to fans – he allegedly threw a fan’s cellphone over a balcony in 2017.
