Babes Wodumo’s Dad is Over Mampintsha Romance

Reverend Welcome Simelane, the father of Babes Wodumo, has washed his hands of his daughter’s relationship with her boyfriend, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo.

In March, Mampintsha, 37, turned himself over to the police, after an Instagram Live video of him allegedly physically assaulting Wodumo – real name Bongekile Simelane, 25 – emerged on social media. He was released on R2 000 bail.

However, the pair rekindled their romance after Wodumo withdrew the charges of assault against him.

In a recent media interview, Simelane revealed that he wants nothing to do with the “Wololo” hitmaker’s personal affairs – including her relationship with Mampintsha.

He said: “The only problem I had with [Mampintsha] was that he was hitting and abusing my child, and I told him to stop … [Wodumo] is an adult and she can do as she pleases.”

Simelane added: “As for me, I only care about my wife, my family, my church. I don’t care whether [Wodumo] and Mampintsha are in or out of a relationship.”
