Cassper Nyovest Releases ‘Bonginkosi’ Feat. Zola 7

Ayeye! Ziyawa this Friday – Cassper Nyovest fans are vibing to a new tune. The rapper just dropped a new highly awaited track, Bonginkosi, featuring legendary singer, Zola 7 – and it’s fire!

Bonginkosi is a single released from Nyovest’s fifth studio album, “Any Time Now”, which will be released on the 11th of September.

Abuti Fill Up has named the song after Zola 7, whose real name is Bonginkosi, which means ‘Thanks to God’. It’s a hip hop song, with a gospel message of hope and gratitude, a theme that will resonate with many, especially now that the world is faced with the COVID-19 pandemic and its challenges.

The rapper’s wish is to see the track becoming a “South African classic” – it’s possible, songs with a gospel reference often become hits in Mzansi – the latest example being Master KG’s mega hit “Jerusalema”.

The song has sent Twitter into a frenzy, with hashtags #Bonginkosi and Zola trending in South Africa. Fans have responded positively to the new single, posting thankful memes and heartfelt messages, saying that it heals the soul and has given them hope and another reason to celebrate.
