#FreeMakhadzi: Fans Demand Justice for Musician

Fans are up in arms after it was discovered that the manager of popular Venda musician, Makhadzi, has not yet paid her client for her recent performances.

In a lengthy statement posted to her Facebook account on Tuesday, 7 January, the 23-year-old singer – real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona – mournfully detailed how her manager, Rita Dee, failed to pay her for gigs that she performed in December last year.

She said: “My worry is not getting paid amount [sic] I made this December but … every time I have to ask to be paid which [Dee] comes with all excuses [sic] like limit issues.”

Makhadzi added: “Rita Dee … I still need us to work, but please change how you do things … I will end up being depressed [because] you are damaging my mind instead of me being happy.”

Thanks to fans voicing their support through the #FreeMakhadzi hashtag on social media, Makhadzi revealed in a Twitter post that she now has access to legal representation.

No doubt Makhadzi’s fans will be rooting for the young musician all the way to court!
