HHP’s Wife Excluded from Will
Lerato Sengadi, the widow of rapper HHP, has allegedly been excluded from her late husband’s will.
According to media reports, the entirety of the deceased “Tswaka” hitmaker’s estate has been left to his 14-year-old son, Leano.
The estate includes the rapper’s Johannesburg house, image rights, a multimillion-rand music catalogue, and royalties from television and radio stations.
Nkululeko Ncana, the spokesperson for HHP’s family, confirmed that the rapper – real name Jabulani Tsambo, who committed suicide at his Johannesburg home in October last year – named Leano as his sole beneficiary.
Ncana added: “We are not expecting any challenge [to the will] because, as we see it, there is no basis for a challenge.”
However, Sengadi – who was declared to be HHP’s customary wife by the Johannesburg High Court shortly after his death – could stand a chance to inherit half of his estate if her late husband’s family are unsuccessful in overturning this ruling.
Final arguments are expected to be heard at the Supreme Court of Appeal next Thursday, 13 June.
