Is Pallance Dladla Leaving “Isibaya”?

Amid a spate of actors exiting “Isibaya”, yet another prominent star has apparently left the popular soapie.

Earlier this year, actors Nomzamo Mbatha, Jessica Nkosi and Menzi Ngubane left the show.

Now, according to reports, Pallance Dladla – who portrays the character of Jabulani Zungu – has not pitched up to work since last month, when South Africa underwent a national lockdown as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

An anonymous source explained to a media outlet: “His role was scrapped … From last month, [Dladla] was not reporting for duty, which prompted the producers of the show to come with new ideas to cover his part.”

However, “Isibaya” publicist, Karabo Maroga, has denied this claim, saying: “[Dladla] requested a break to go to the US for March and April to do an acting course and explore his international contacts.”

Because of the lockdown, Maroga added, these plans have been put on hold.
Dladla has yet to comment publicly on the reports.
