Kelvin Momo Faces Backlash After Sun City No-Show

August 18, 2025

Amapiano star Kelvin Momo has issued an apology after failing to perform at the Outside event held at Sun City Resort in Rustenburg, North West.

The 31-year-old deejay – whose real name is Thato Ledwaba – was billed as a headline act but failed to appear for his set on Saturday, 16 August.

In a statement, Sun City criticised the artist, saying he had been “contracted, booked, and paid for”, but neither he nor his management responded to repeated calls for updates.

Ledwaba later addressed fans on X/Twitter expressing regret over his absence.

“There were unforeseen circumstances and miscommunications that led to my absence and I acknowledge that I should have responded more promptly and transparently to all parties involved,” he shared via social media the day after his no-show.

He added that he hoped to make it up to fans at a future performance.

This is not the first time the “Bo Gogo” hitmaker has come under fire for missing gigs. In May, he pulled out of three shows in one weekend, with his team blaming health issues. While he regained trust with his successful Red Bull Symphonic show in June, his inconsistent appearances have reignited concerns among supporters and organisers.
