Kenneth Nkosi to Appear in Court over Assault Claims

June 13, 2019

Actor Kenneth Nkosi is reportedly set to appear in the Johannesburg magistrate’s court today, Thursday 13 June, on charges of assault and domestic violence.

According to media outlets, the “Mad Buddies” star had turned himself in to the Johannesburg Central police station on Wednesday, 12 June, and spent the night at the station’s holding cells until his court appearance on Thursday.

News of Nkosi’s detainment comes after he allegedly assaulted a woman while celebrating his birthday last Friday, 7 June, at the Black Ant Lounge in the city’s Newtown suburb.

According to Puly – a friend of the unidentified victim – Nkosi “busted [the woman’s] lip, followed her to the bathroom, and beat her up some more” when she refused his advances.

Puly also posted a video clip showing a seemingly intoxicated Nkosi lighting a cigarette, all the while refusing to give back the woman’s cellphone that he took from her after the alleged incident occurred.

Neither Nkosi nor the alleged victim have commented publicly on the matter.
