Khaya Mthethwa, Ntando Kunene Break Up

Former “Idols SA” winner, Khaya Mthethwa, and his wife of two years, Ntando Kunene, have called it quits on their marriage.

The “Settle For Less” hitmaker married the former Miss South Africa in December 2017, in a traditional wedding that took place in Mpumalanga. Together, the couple share a 10-month-old son, Oyinkosi.

However, in a statement released on Instagram by Kunene on Tuesday, 24 December, she revealed that they amicably filed for divorce, and that they informed both of their families about their decision last weekend.

Kunene also revealed that she – along with their infant son – have already returned to her home province of Mpumalanga.

She added: “I will have custody of our son, but at all times his father shall have unrestricted access so that he can play his fatherly role as we co-parent.”

Per the conditions of their marriage, Mthethwa and Kunene will keep all of their individual assets, and that the latter will not ask the court for child maintenance.
