Lira Suffers Stroke in Germany

Popular Afro-pop singer-songwriter, Lira, is recovering after suffering a stroke.

In a statement posted to her social media accounts by her family on Tuesday, 19 April, the 44-year-old songstress – real name Lerato Molapo – had “recently travelled to Germany for performance but unfortunately suffered a stroke whilst there.”

As a result, Lira’s “ability to communicate, in particular, her speech, has been impacted.”

Luckily, she’s back home in South Africa, she’s receiving treatment, and is “in good spirits and is surrounded by her loving family and close friends as she journeys towards a full recovery.”
