Moja LOVE Cancels Babes Wodumo-Mampintsha Show

January 24, 2020

South Africans are feeling a whirlwind of emotions after Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha’s docu-series, “Impilo”, was cancelled at the last minute.

The series – which promised to give viewers a glimpse into the musical couple’s private lives, tainted by claims of domestic violence – was set to premiere on Channel Moja LOVE on Thursday evening, 23 January.

However, the controversial broadcaster issued a statement on the same evening, in which they revealed the show’s cancellation.

They wrote: “Today, the couple decided to go to court to stop the broadcasting of the interview. However, because this issue is now in the hands of the court and the matter will be heard on 2 April 2020, Moja LOVE has decided to not broadcast the programme tonight.”

The motive behind Wodumo and Mampintsha’s sudden court action is currently unknown.

As for South Africans, their reactions have mostly been negative, with one tweep writing: “You shouldn’t have agreed to air such content. I hope your channel gets canceled in the near future.”

Another user kept it real: “These 2 must STOP [sic] playing games and go sort [out] their lives.”
