Ndlovu Youth Choir Offered Record Deal
The Ndlovu Youth Choir may not have won “America’s Got Talent”, but they have come away with an equally stunning prize as compensation – a new record deal!
The Limpopo-based choir – who competed in the popular talent competition’s 14th season – enjoyed a stellar run on the show before ultimately losing to Californian crooner, Kodi Lee.
In an interview with Radio 702 on Thursday, 26 September, choir director Ralf Schmitt revealed that the choir landed a record deal with Simon Cowell – an entertainment mogul and judge on “America’s Got Talent.”
Schmitt explained: “We are very excited that Simon Cowell and his company [Syco] have exercised their option to sign the choir, and together with Sony Music in South Africa are working on exciting projects.”
He added: “It is a wonderful compliment to these young people because [Cowell] wouldn’t do that if he didn’t think there is a future for them and the work they have done.”
Whether or not they have accepted the deal is unclear, but it is surely a sign of positive things to come for the choir.
