Ndlovu Youth Choir Reaches ‘America’s Got Talent’ Finals
After a heavy and sad week of looting, violence, xenophobia and femicide in South Africa, at least there’s something the country can still be proud of: the amazingly-talented Ndlovu Youth Choir has raised the Mzansi flag beyond the clouds – they have made it through to America’s Got Talent finals.
The inspiring Youth Choir from Limpopo wowed the American audience with their South African twist on “Higher Love” by Whitney Houston during the AGT’s semi-finals on Wednesday.
But the standing ovation from all the judges wasn’t enough for the American public to vote them through initially. The choir landed in the bottom two and had to battle with singer Robert Finley for the judges vote into the finals.
Within a few seconds left before the end of the show, Simon Cowell decided to send the choir through to the finals.
The group took to social media to share the good news with the caption “Dreams do come true”.
