Nigerian Artists Shine at 2025 Grammy Award Nominations

Nigerian musicians are poised to make waves at the 2025 Grammy Awards, with top talents like Tems, Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid, among the nominees.

Tems leads the pack with three prestigious nods, including Best Global Music Album for her debut “Born in the Wild”; Best Global Music Performance for “Love Me JeJe;” and Best African Music Performance. This recognition solidifies her rising stardom in the global music scene.

Burna Boy, renowned as the “African Giant,” continues his Grammy nod streak with another nomination in the Best African Music Performance category, while fellow star Wizkid, known as “Starboy,” is celebrated for his 2021 Grammy win on “Brown Skin Girl” alongside Beyoncé.

Davido also received three nominations, including Best Global Music Album for “Timeless” and Best African Music Performance for “Unavailable.” These honours showcase the growing global appeal of Nigerian music, as the country’s artists frequently achieve acclaim at other major awards, including the BET and MTV Europe Music Awards.

The 67th Grammy Awards will officially be held on 2 February 2025 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
