Nigerian Stars Lead Charge for 2026 Grammy Glory
Nigeria’s music heavyweights are taking centre stage ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards, with Wizkid, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Davido driving a powerful wave of African representation.
Wizkid is currently at the top of the Nigerian submissions list: His album, “Morayo”, is vying for Album of the Year and Best Global Album, while his hit single, “Piece of My Heart”, competes for Record and Song of the Year, along with Best African Music Performance.
He also entered “Kese (Dance)” for Best Music Video, and “Billionaires Club”, featuring Olamide and Darkoo, for Best African Music Performance.
Burna Boy’s “No Sign of Weakness” targets the same top album categories, with his tracks “Love” and “Kampe III” in the running for African and global honours, respectively. Ayra Starr is also eyeing major awards with “Hot Body” and her Wizkid collaboration, “Gimme Dat”.
Meanwhile, Davido’s recent induction as a Grammy voting member signals growing African influence within the Recording Academy.
Nominees will be announced on 7 November 2025, but one thing is clear already: Nigerian artists are not just participating, they’re setting the pace for worldwide recognition.
