Nigerian Stars Shine at the 2025 Met Gala in Style
The 2025 Met Gala saw Nigerian celebrities make a bold statement with their fashion choices, reflecting African heritage and identity.
The musicians who attended the star-studded “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”-themed event at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art showcased the continent’s finest style.
Tems returned with a striking custom look by Ozwald Boateng, blending traditional Nigerian Ankara fabric with contemporary tailoring. Her blue shirt dress, complete with a peacock feather bow tie and matching umbrella, paid homage to both the Harlem Renaissance and her roots.
Burna Boy, representing African men, made an impression in a custom red tuxedo with an oxblood eel-skin cape, styled by Boateng too. Ayra Starr also impressed with a minimalist yet bold gown by Gaurav Gupta, reflecting her signature style.
Each star embraced the evening’s theme with elegance, blending traditional with global fashion trends, further solidifying Nigeria’s presence on the international fashion stage.
