Noah Not Critics’ Choice, But Nominated by NAACP
South African born comedian, Trevor Noah, has lost out on a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Comedy Special over the weekend.
The 35-year-old’s Netflix comedy, “Trevor Noah: Son of Patricia” was up against the likes of Amy Schumer, Ramy Youssef, and Seth Myers, who all lost out to “Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s All in the Family and The Jeffersons”.
There’s a silver lining, however, as Noah has been nominated for three National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards, it was announced yesterday.
The NAACP Image Awards focus on black excellence in all areas of the USA entertainment industry, including film, television, literacy and music.
“The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” has been nominated in the Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Host in a Talk or News/Information Show and Outstanding Talk Series categories.
And while it didn’t win the Critics’ Choice Award, Noah’s Netflix comedy special is still up for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album.
