Nomzamo Mbatha to Feature at BET Awards

Homegrown talent, Nomzamo Mbatha, will be representing Mzansi when she joins the crew of presenters for the 2020 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards in Los Angeles, California.

The 29-year-old television personality will be the international presenter, alongside comedienne and actress, Amanda Seales, who will be hosting the event on Monday, 28 June.

Mbatha – who resides in the US – shared the great news on Instagram on Thursday, 25 June.

She said: “What an incredible honour and privilege it is to amplify the voice of diaspora at the BET Awards 2020. BET international continues to celebrate black excellence in every corner of the globe and I’m so excited that I get the opportunity to give this celebration the gravity it deserves.”

The South African actress also mentioned the Black Lives Matter movement and how the international black community stands in solidarity with African Americans.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the show will be a virtual ceremony – the first in its history.

Celebrities expected to feature or be in attendance include Lizzo, La La Anthony, Michael B Jordan, Naomi Campbell, Quincy Jones, Regina Hall, Samuel L. Jackson and Whoopi Goldberg.
