Nomzamo Mbatha’s Future on “Isibaya” Revealed

August 30, 2019

“Isibaya” fans can breathe a sigh of relief – Nomzamo Mbatha is not leaving the beloved telenovela anytime soon.

Last week, it was announced that Mbatha – who portrays the character of Thandeka Zungu in the soapie – will be starring in a sequel to the 1988 film, “Coming to America”.

The cast includes returning Hollywood heavyweights such as Eddie Murphy, James Earl Jones and Shari Headley.

After the announcement was made, rumours spread that because of her new film role – as well as her moving to Los Angeles, California several months ago – Mbatha would be leaving “Isibaya” for good.

However, Philly Kubheka, the head of Publicity for Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net, shot these rumours down via a recently released statement.

He said: “As local entertainment channels, we are very proud of Nomzamo Mbatha’s international project and achievements to date. She still forms a critical part of the “Isibaya” cast.”
