Ntsiki Mazwai Shades “Champagne Darling” Bonang Matheba
Controversial singer-poet, Ntsiki Mazwai, is at her Twitter antics again, this time by taking potshots at media personality, Bonang Matheba.
While South Africa is in the midst of a 21-day lockdown – which began last Friday, 27 March – during the coronavirus pandemic, the sale of alcohol has been temporarily banned.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, 31 March, Mazwai wrote: “Guys, since alcohol was banned SAP [sic] says violence has gone down, hospitals say there are no serious stabbings, less car accidents, less domestic violence.”
She provocatively added: “You sure Champagne Darling is a good influence on our community or it’s [sic] capitalist poison? Question.”
“Champagne, darling” is the well-known catchphrase of Matheba, who launched her own bubbly brand, “House of BNG”, in March last year.
Needless to say, some Twitter users saw Maswai’s tweet as an insult directed at Matheba, with one remarking: “You could have addressed this without dragging [Matheba] into it you know this obsession you have on her [sic].”
Another wrote: “Alcohol consumption in SA [sic] has always been promoted way before Matheba was born, no wonder I don’t worry gore Ntsiki [sic] blocked me.”
