Queen of Gqom, Babes Wodumo is Back with ‘Idandokazi’

When was the last time you heard a Babes Wodumo song on the radio? It’s been a while right? Well, worry not, because the queen of Gqom is back with another sizzling album titled Idandokazi.

The album was released on Friday, 24 July 2020, as a follow-up to her 2016 debut album, Queen of Gqom Vol.1, which features her boyfriend, Mampintsha on every track.

Babes has followed the same trend with Idandokazi: she featured Mampintsha on nine of the 13 tracks. The album was produced under their collaborative record label, Westlink Studios.

Besides Mampintsha, Idandokazi also features well known Durban artists such as Dladla Mshunqisi and Tipcee.

The album’s lead single is titled, eLamont, however a popular tune dubbed Corona, which features Mampintsha and Worst Behavior, is already making waves across the country.

Fans took to Twitter to congratulate her and share their excitement about her latest release, with many claiming that they have waited in anticipation for four years since the last album.

However, a few were concerned about Mampintsha featuring on almost all the album tracks, with speculation that he wants to steal Babes Wodumo’s shine.
