Rema, Davido Lead Spotify’s Top Nigerian Songs of 2025

July 22, 2025

Spotify has revealed its Global Impact List for the first half of 2025, showcasing the 30 most internationally streamed Nigerian songs.

Topping the list is Rema’s “Baby (Is It a Crime)” – a soulful Afrobeats hit featuring a Sade Adu sample – solidifying his growing global acclaim following the success of his album, “HEIS”.

Davido dominated the chart with nine entries, more than any other artist, including standout collaborations with Omah Lay, Victoria Monet and Chris Brown. Burna Boy followed closely with five tracks, among them “TaTaTa” featuring Travis Scott and “Laho II” with Shallipopi.

Several emerging artists also made a mark. Chella’s “My Darling” and Minz’s “NUMBER ONE”, featuring Ivorian star Himra, gained international traction. Gospel music also found its place, with Lawrence Oyor’s “Favour” being the only track of its kind on the list.

Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Phiona Okumu, pointed out the growing trend: “This year’s Global Impact List is a testament to the vast range and international appeal of Nigerian music.”

With stars old and new capturing ears around the world, the list reflects Nigeria’s expanding influence: from gospel to Afrobeats, the sound is louder than ever.
