Shalate Sekhabi Confirms Engagement

Shalate Sekhabi has confirmed her engagement to fellow actor Wanda Zuma, who played her on-screen husband, Nkosi Zwide, in the hit telenovela, “House of Zwide”.

The 25-year-old actress and singer, who recently departed the show, shared the joyful news on Saturday, October 4, posting a video on Instagram in which she gleefully showed off her diamond ring while singing, “I’ve got a ring on my wedding finger.”

Fans and colleagues flooded her comments with messages of excitement and support. “House of Zwide” co-star Londeka Mchunu exclaimed: “Wait, did you just announce?”

“Black Gold” star Dawn King added: “Darling, congratulations.”

Fellow “House of Zwide” star Nefisa Mkhabela wrote: “Finally!”

Rumours of Sekhabi’s relationship with Zuma had circulated since 2023, after the pair were frequently spotted together at industry events. Neither had publicly addressed the speculation until the engagement reveal confirmed their romance.

Sekhabi’s announcement follows a weekend of celebration in the “House of Zwide” family, as co-star Rorisang Mohapi also revealed her engagement to actor Prince Grootboom. Fans have poured out their love and congratulations for the beloved cast.
