Tbo Touch Defends Kobe Bryant Tribute Post
Local media mogul, Tbo Touch, has defended himself after he received criticism following his visit to the late Kobe Bryant’s memorial.
Last month, the retired 41-year-old basketball player, along with nine others – including his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna – died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
Most recently, Tbo Touch posted an Instagram photo of himself paying his respects at Bryant’s memorial at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California.
In the caption, he wrote: “On behalf of your friends and family from ZA [sic], RIP Kobe and Gigi.”
In response, South African fans across social media slammed the mogul, saying that they did not ask him to represent them – they also accused him of being an attention-seeker.
Tbo Touch hit back at the criticism in a recent interview, saying that he was not fazed by the haters.
He praised the basketball legend: “Kobe Bryant is more than basketball to me, he’s the epitome of excellence … if there was ever a time to thank the Bryant family for giving us the “Mamba King”, it could only be now!”
