Terry Pheto Picks Up “Best Actress” Award
Actress Terry Pheto has done her country proud, after she bagged an award at the fifth annual British Urban Film Festival Awards on Saturday, 7 September, in London, England.
The 38-year-old actress – who has starred in a variety of films such as “Tsotsi”, “Goodbye Bafana” and “Ayanda” – clinched the festival’s Best Actress award for her role as Aisha in the film, “Faces”.
Unable to attend the event due to prior obligations, an excited Pheto commented on her win in a recent interview with a media outlet.
She wrote: “I am excited about this achievement, and I thank all the people who support me and my work.”
Pheto added: “There is nothing more inspiring than knowing that people are watching your work and they feel that you deserve acknowledgement.”
Congratulatory messages for the actress have since poured in from her fellow South Africans, including from the country’s former public protector, Thuli Madonsela: “You are an amazing ambassador for @Brand_SA and being exemplary about living a possibility-anchored life.”
