“The Queen” Actress: I Was Fired

Actress Dineo Langa has revealed that she was fired from popular telenovela, “The Queen”.

Back in April, showrunner Laura Nel said in an interview that Langa – who plays the character of Kea Khoza – was still with the show.

Nel explained: “[Langa] is still on payroll until the end of May. [Langa] was released to go and shoot her movie. Scripts had to be rewritten to accommodate this as she was on an ‘A’ storyline.”

However, the 30-year-old actress set the record straight while commenting on a recent Instagram post by her now-former colleague, Loyiso MacDonald.

When a user asked her about when she would make her on-screen return, Langa answered: “I’m not coming back, l was fired.”

In reply to another user asking about her character, she elaborated: “My character was removed from the show. The character will be dying soon soon [sic].”

Langa is among many stars – including Khanya Mkangi and Rami Chuene – who have either recently walked away or have been fired from the show, which was created by Connie and Shona Ferguson in 2016.
