Thieves Burgle Zodwa Wabantu’s House
Entertainer Zodwa Wabantu has been left shaken – but unharmed – after robbers burgled her house early on Thursday morning, 23 April.
According to Wabantu – who confirmed the news in an emotional video on Instagram – the burglary took place at her home in Malvern, Durban, while she was in Johannesburg.
She explained that the thieves took grass-cutting machines worth R5 000 altogether, a laptop and clothing, as well as six perfume boxes worth more than R10 000 each. They also attempted to steal her bakkie, but left it idling halfway down her driveway.
In the video, a tearful Wabantu appealed to those with possible information about the perpetrators to come forward.
She said: “I asked my boyfriend to go check and then open a case with the police because I am far from home. People are hungry. We are still going to suffer because of the COVID-19 and lockdown. I am crying because I am trying to show people that I have a heart, too. I do feel pain as a human being.”
