Tyla Garners 2025 BET Award Nominations

Tyla is once again shining brightly on the international stage as she thrives with three major nominations at the 2025 BET Awards.

The singer has earned nods for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best New Artist, and Best International Act.

Following her Grammy win and the success of her debut album, the 23-year-old “Water” hitmaker continues to cement her place as one of the global music scene’s brightest stars.

Tyla’s fellow South Africans also picked up nominations, including Uncle Waffles, who is also nominated for Best International Act.

In the Best New International Act category, Dlala Thukzin and Maglera Doe Boy also represent the vibrancy of South African music. From Thukzin’s gqom-infused hits, to Maglera’s standout brand of hip-hop, both continue to break boundaries with their unique sounds.

These stars can hold their heads high as representatives of their home nation’s musical landscape, showcasing the global impact of its artists in shaping today’s music trends.

As the BET Awards approach on 9 June, it’s clear that Mzansi will be fiercely represented.
