Unathi Fired Again, This Time as Host of GQ Awards
GQ’s Editor in Chief, Molife Kumona, has confirmed that Unathi Nkayi will no longer host the awards ceremony, taking place on Saturday, 27 November, at The Westcliff Four Seasons Hotel.
The GQ’s Men of the Year awards ceremony recognises men and women who inspire, lead and shape the cultural landscape.
During an interview with various media houses, Kumona said: “It is with regret that singer-songwriter, businesswoman, entertainer and reality show judge Unathi will no longer be joining us for our event due to unforeseen circumstances.”
He added: “However, we continue our long-standing relationship with Unathi and look forward to upcoming opportunities in the future.”
Although the reasons behind GQ’s decision to drop Unathi as host are still unclear, social media users have linked it to her dismissal from Kaya FM.
Despite her recent career challenges, the Idols SA judge has remained silent on these issues and focused on the things going well in her life, such as music career.
