Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Another Lekompo Artist Involved in Car Collision
It’s a whole new year, but the silly season ain’t over yet!
With hundreds upon hundreds of South Africans making their way home after the Christmas break (or still travelling to their holiday destination, must be nice), the roads across the country have become scenes of gnarly car crashes in the last few weeks. A majority of these have resulted in the tragic loss of many lives.
Tribby WaDi BhoZza, a popular Lekompo artist who hails from Limpopo, nearly became a statistic after he was involved in a high-impact collision on Saturday night, 3 January.
According to reports, Tribby – real name Tshepang Mphahlele – was travelling with his team to Seshego, not far from the city of Polokwane, when the accident occurred. The front of the vehicle was badly damaged; thankfully, Tribby sustained only very minor injuries. As for the rest of his team, they were unharmed.
Although folks on Twitter/X were relieved that the 21-year-old “Perebere” hitmaker escaped the prang unscathed, it got them worrying big time. After all, it comes hot on the heels of recent car-related accidents involving his fellow Lekompo artists, including King Monada and Makhadzi.
As you can imagine, many believe that someone – or something – has it out for these particular musicians for some sinister reason or another:
Others chalk it up to several factors including alcohol, fatigue and/or poor driving skills:
It’s unknown if the artists themselves are driving or if they’ve got chauffeurs. Either way, these tweets are kinda valid points, even if they do come off as a bit harsh. Still, leave it to Mzansi to spread a lil’ light in these dark times:
Yup, who knew a Donald Trump pic could elicit a laugh in a discussion about South Africans’ driving skills and road safety?
In all seriousness, though, we’re glad Tribby and his team are okay, and we hope that his fellow artists – as well as all you motorists out there – will stay safe on the roads as the rest of the silly season pans out.
