Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Big Zulu Heads Home From Hospital

Rapper Big Zulu is going home after being hospitalised for a car accident.

Last Sunday night, 26 January, the “Donsa Nkabi” hitmaker – real name Siyabonga Nene – was driving through Germiston, Gauteng, when his BMW 325i Gusheshe veered off the road and into some bushes. Judging from the photos taken at the scene, the vehicle was totalled.

Big Zulu was immediately admitted to Netcare Alberton Hospital in Alberton nearly 12 kilometres away.

On Tuesday, 28 January, the 38-year-old rapper posted the following statement on his record label Nkabi Records’ Facebook page:

Additionally, the record label confirmed that he was “discharged and well. Thank you so much for your support and love. We truly appreciate it.”

Big Zulu also posted pics of himself before his departure and the medical staff who took care of him during his stay:

As you can see, he looks to be in good health and is ready to go home – to relax, create some new tunes, whatever he may have planned!

Folks on Twitter/X were happy, relieved and thankful that he is doing well after his harrowing ordeal:

However, there were a few petty party-poopers who reckoned that he looked TOO good for someone who had just been in a near-fatal car accident:

All kidding aside, it’s a huge relief that Big Zulu survived the accident. After all, with all the stars we’ve already lost over recent months, South Africa can’t afford to lose another one.
