Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Gogo Skhotheni’s Prayer Session Goes Viral

Podcaster, entrepreneur and former sangoma, Gogo Skhotheni, has caused quite a stir among tweeps after she recently hosted a prayer session.

Earlier this month, Gogo Skhotheni – real name Patricia Tumi Motsoeneng – declared that she was leaving the world of traditional healing behind in order to convert to Christianity. Now, her new passion has led her to host a prayer session at a local church, an event that has attracted a LOT of online attention.

On Sunday, 13 April, TikTok user @joe.junior5 posted a clip of the 33-year-old convert “praying at church”, according to the in-video caption:

In the clip, Gogo Skhotheni – wearing traditional church garb, minus footwear – runs up and down the platform, preaching passionately before the ministers and the congregation.

Once the clip went viral online, the folks on Twitter/X had very mixed responses. Many of them were amused at her zealousness, some were in “shakes head in exasperation” mode and others were simply done:
