Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Minnie Dlamini is Suing “Podcast And Chill” Hosts

August 04, 2025

Minnie Dlamini is on the warpath after podcasters MacG and Sol Phenduka allegedly made some highly personal remarks about her.

Back in May, the two co-hosts of “Podcast And Chill” caused eyebrows to be raised and tongues to wag when they allegedly claimed in one of their episodes that Dlamini wasn’t able to hold down a successful relationship due to her having bad hygiene.

Well, it was actually MacG – real name Macgyver Mukwevho – who made the disparaging comments about Dlamini’s personal hygiene (especially with regard to her *cough* nether regions), while Phenduka remained tight-lipped. The former also accused Dlamini of being a gold-digger.

In response, the multi-hyphenate media personality labelled the remarks as “incredibly disturbing.” She also alleged that MacG’s statements were a personal attack, motivated by her past support for actress Amanda Du-Pont.

Du-Pont had previously appeared “Podcast And Chill” in 2021, where she accused rapper Jub Jub of rape and emotional abuse. Dlamini felt the hosts treated the 37-year-old actress and model unfairly during that interview.

Although MacG extended an apology about the comments he made, Dlamini was not having it, instead revealing her plans to take legal action against MacG and Phenduka. Now, she has officially taken the first step towards suing the duo after filing papers in the Equality Court last week.

Per the documents, the 35-year-old TV presenter is suing them for hate speech, unfair discrimination, and harassment on the basis of sex or gender, referring to the episode where they made fun of her, as well as the Jub Jub/Du-Pont situation. As such, she is demanding R2.5 million: R1 million in damages for herself, and the remaining R1.5 million to be donated to an unspecified women’s organisation.

It’s a lot to take in, but unfortunately, in the land of Twitter/X, the viewpoint boils down to Dlamini trying to stay relevant or cop a bit of coin because the spousal support from her ex-husband, Quinton Jones, ain’t what it used to be:

A few even wondered why she was also going after Phenduka, since he didn’t explicitly say anything derogatory about her in the episode (then again, he didn’t clearly disagree with his co-host or try to stop him):

Others pointed out that Dlamini was being hypocritical, seeing as she previously made equally disparaging comments regarding the private parts of her ex-boyfriend, Itumuleng Khune:

In and amongst the trolls’ posts, there were some tweeps who pledged their support to Dlamini:

Regardless of what the peanut gallery thinks, it sounds like both parties have a long legal battle ahead of them – who will emerge as the winner? As always, watch this space!
