Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Sizwe Dhlomo Parts Ways With Kaya FM

May 28, 2026

As the common saying states: “People come and go. That’s life”. However, some stick around long enough to make an impact on your life and then folks get emotional when you up and leave. Sometimes there are signs but you only realise it after it happens.

Such is the case with Size Dhlomo, who, after spending six years at Kaya FM, has suddenly chosen to leave the station.

The first sign was an Instagram post he made on 21 May, where he shared lyrics stating: “I’m better off independent, they should let him leave.”

Clued-up supporters of the popular radio personality quickly caught onto the Drake lyrics and assumed that something was coming. A couple of days passed and the rumours got louder until the news dropped on Tuesday, 27 May.

The radio station chose a school day to make fans’ morning drive more quiet and shared its “sincere appreciation” for the 42-year-old media personality. Like a gent, he thanked listeners and the Kaya FM team for being part of its journey.

Meanwhile, social media was a mess of emotions, gratitude, tributes and folks guessing what comes next.

Online peeps can’t leave well alone so they started thinking. About what? Well, they were wondering about Dhlomo’s next move and how Kaya would fill his seat.

One user made the bet that DJ Fresh would take over the morning slot, but there was just one problem and another tweep pointed it out.

So there you have it, folks. All the best to Dhlomo and the next step in his career and wherever he may go. Until then, keep your peepers peeled for the next installment!
