Bok Star Jesse Kriel Strongly Hints at Being Single

Rugby star Jesse Kriel has seemingly confirmed his single status.

As part of his ambassadorial duties for a local skincare brand, the 32-year-old utility back appeared in a recent video campaign, in which he answered fan-submitted messages.

In response to a fan calling him and his Springbok teammate, Willie le Roux, handsome, Kriel said: “Willie is very handsome. Probably why he is married, and I’m not.”

Kriel then dropped the following bomb: “Maybe, maybe not. Jokes, I am [single].”

This might come as a shock to long-time followers of Kriel, who has been in a relationship with Hope Mortimer, a chartered accountant, since 2018. In recent years, the couple have been spotted in public together and shared pictures of each other on their respective social media accounts.

For what it’s worth, though, Kriel and Mortimer last posted pics of each other in 2024, which lends credence to the reports that the veteran Bok is back on the market.

Kriel has offered no confirmation or denial regarding his relationship status.
