Brymo Calls Out Big Three

June 17, 2026

Nigerian alternative music icon Brymo has launched a scathing critique against the country’s veteran pop superstars, demanding they step aside for the next generation. Speaking in a candid interview, the “Ara” crooner accused Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido of intentionally monopolizing the spotlight and stifling emerging talent.

Brymo targeted the pervasive “Big 3” media narrative, arguing that it is a calculated effort by established hitmakers to maintain a permanent stranglehold on the music industry. Instead of critiquing the lyrical depth of rising acts, he insists the focus should be on how older veterans refuse to relinquish control of the airwaves. According to Brymo, globally acclaimed artists like Rema should now undisputedly anchor the contemporary pop conversation.

Expressing his frustration with the industry’s reluctance to evolve, Brymo delivered an blunt ultimatum to his mainstream contemporaries:

“They should shift aside. Right now, Rema should be the biggest pop star in the country (Nigeria) without any doubt. All this talk about Wizkid, 2Face, Olamide, Burna Boy. Why? In the Pop scene?? Wetin dem dey sing? You can plug the radio but nobody likes your stuff anymore. Move aside, evolve.”
