Danny K’s Wife Passes Away

Lisa Koppel, the wife of singer and entrepreneur Danny K, has died at the age of 41.

The attorney married the “Hurts So Bad” hitmaker – real name Daniel Koppel – in 2012. Together, they welcomed three children.

On Monday, 10 August, the Koppel family confirmed that Lisa had passed away. Details regarding the date of death have yet to be disclosed.

On Tuesday morning, 11 August, Danny K took to Instagram to shed light on his wife’s private, three-year-long health battle.

“Lisa was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in November 2023,” the 48-year-old singer wrote. “From that moment, she fought with extraordinary strength and determination. Together with our family, we searched for hope in South Africa and around the world, pursuing every treatment and every opportunity available to us. Tragically, despite everything, we could not save her.”

Paying tribute to Lisa – while also thanking the medical professionals who treated her – Danny K hopes that by sharing her story, it will help raise awareness about cancer and encourage others to get screened regularly for the disease.

“Lisa hoped that one day she would use her experience to raise awareness of this disease and help others through early detection,” he shared. “She never got that opportunity. Our family will now carry that purpose forward in her name.”
