Minnie Dlamini Sues Podcasters for R2.5 Million

Minnie Dlamini is on the warpath after podcasters MacG and Sol Phenduka allegedly made some highly personal remarks about her.

Last April, the two co-hosts of “Podcast And Chill” allegedly claimed in one of their episodes that Dlamini wasn’t able to hold down a successful relationship due to her alleged poor personal hygiene.

In response, the 35-year-old media personality is suing them for hate speech, unfair discrimination, and harassment on the basis of sex or gender.

According to recent reports, Dlamini filed a 79-page statement at an Equality Court sitting at the Johannesburg High Court in Gauteng.

Per the statement, the remarks made by MacG and Sol Phenduka – real names Macgyver Mukwevho and Solomzi Phenduka – not only caused a social media uproar, but the fallout also had emotional and financial consequences for Dlamini.

Due to the aftermath, she says that she was left feeling “hurt” and “anxious.” Additionally, she lost out on lucrative brand endorsements and partnership opportunities, including a reported R897 000 deal with skincare juggernaut Nivea.

As such, Dlamini is demanding R2.5 million from MacG and Phenduka: R1 million in damages for herself, and the remaining R1.5 million to be donated to Women for Change, a women’s rights organisation.
