Toluwanisings’ Father Wants Son Buried at Home

The father of the late gospel singer Toluwanisings is pleading with his daughter-in-law to reconsider her burial plans for his son.

On 14 October, it was announced that Toluwanisings – real name Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji – had passed away at the age of 41. The cause of death remains unclear.

In a recent interview with a Nigerian publication, Muniru Olayemi – the father of Toluwanisings – revealed that the singer’s wife, Itohan, plans to bury his son in a cemetery. However, Olayemi wishes for the “Emi Mimo Ese” hitmaker to be laid to rest at his house instead.

“I don’t want him buried in a church or cemetery,” he said. “I want him buried in his house, and that will make me happy.”

Meanwhile, Lawal Ademola, who identified himself as Toluwanisings’ paternal uncle, has called for the popular gospel artist’s burial plans to be put on hold pending an investigation into the cause of death.

“We need the help of influential people and the government to help us investigate the cause of Toluwanisings’ death because his demise was shocking to us,” Ademola said in an interview with media personality Dumininu on Monday, 26 October. “We want a transparent probe into his death.”

Itohan has yet to comment on Olayemi and Ademola’s remarks.
