Tyla to Take Over Beloved Theme Park
Tyla has made her return to South Africa for what promises to be an unforgettable event.
Back in July, Tyla released her highly-anticipated second album, “A*Pop”. In honour of its launch, she is set to take over Gold Reef City in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
According to reports, fans – known as “Tygers” – will get the opportunity to meet the 24-year-old “Water” hitmaker this Sunday, 16 August.
Details regarding the event, which will run from 09:00 to 17:00, are scarce, though we’re sure that Tyla will be performing for her fellow South Africans for the special occasion.
“Johannesburg shaped me as a person, as an artist,” she said in a recent interview with a local news outlet. “The Joburg Tygers were the first Tygers to know me and support me.
“So, I really feel good that I’m able to come back … I’ve always loved Gold Reef City, and I would love to share this day with everyone.”
Tyla is also using her homecoming to Mzansi as a break from her demanding globe-trotting schedule. While here, she’s planning on spending time with her loved ones and rediscovering her South African roots.
“Family is so important to me, and home is so important to me because there’s no place like this in the world,” she explained. “So, when I have to travel across all the oceans and go to all these new places, I always love to find time to touch back home and just connect back to my roots.”
