US Stars are Heading to South Africa

August 06, 2026

South Africans are in for a treat later this month when two of America’s legendary R&B stars perform at the Ndlala Grandeur II concert.

According to recent reports, Mya and Ginuwine will headline the two-day event, which takes place at Ndlala Arena in Pretoria, Gauteng.

Bursting onto the music scene in 1998, Mya is best known for her hit 2000s songs “The Case of the Ex”, “The Best of Me”, and her collaborative cover of “Lady Marmalade” with Christina Aguilera, Pink and Lil’ Kim.

The 46-year-old songstress will headline the first day of the concert on Friday, 21 August. Other performers include the cream of South Africa’s entertainment crop: Zonke, Khanyi Mbau and DJ Young.

On Saturday, 22 August, it will be the turn of Ginuwine – real name Elgin Lumpkin – to take over the stage at Ndlala Grandeur. He dominated the music charts in the ‘90s and early 2000s, putting out popular offerings such as “Pony”, “Differences” and “In Those Jeans”.

Concert organisers have yet to confirm who else will perform on the second day. Still, with the arrival of Mya and Ginuwine imminent, the event is sure to keep South Africans buzzing with nostalgia and anticipation!
